Privacy & use.
Polyscript is a transcription tool with searchable meeting memory. Permission, local processing, and source evidence are part of the experience.
This website
This is a product website, not a transcription service. It does not record audio, accept transcript uploads, or run meeting analysis. Every meeting, participant, quotation, and product screenshot shown in the demo is fictional.
The website has no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, account system, or signup form. The hosting service may receive ordinary request information, such as an IP address and requested page, to serve the site. Demo controls work in your browser without sending questions or transcript content to a server.
The Mac preview download is hosted on GitHub. Following its download link sends an ordinary file request to that service; it does not send a recording, transcript, or question. The downloaded app is separate from this website.
The Mac app
The current app runs speech recognition, detection, storage, search, and answer processing locally. It does not silently fall back to a cloud provider. Optional local models download only after you choose to set them up. Those downloads require a network connection; core processing works offline afterward.
You choose whether to retain a transcript for search and questions. Saved transcripts and indexes are local files with restricted permissions. The current beta does not provide application-level encryption, and raw audio is not retained for playback. Device access, disk protection, exports, original imported files, and backups remain separate considerations.
Revoking a source’s allowed uses or deleting it removes access to that source in the library and derived recall. Polyscript cannot remove copies you have exported, original source files, or copies in external backups.
Permission and agreed use
Ask everyone involved for permission before starting transcription. Agree with them on how the transcript may be used, including saving it and using it for search, summaries, or questions. Do not use or share transcripts without that agreement.
The app requires fresh permission and transcript-use confirmations for every recording or import. Operating-system microphone access is separate from participant consent. A confirmation records the user’s attestation; it is not independent proof that participants agreed.
Evidence and boundaries
Questions and summaries may describe what authorized stored transcripts support. Answers cite their supporting passages and disclose missing evidence. They do not establish facts beyond those sources.
Interview use is prohibited even with consent. When Polyscript detects an interview, it stops capture, transcription, retrieval, and inference, cancels outstanding work, prevents further output, discards transient session data, and exits immediately. There is no override, resume, or automatic retry. Detection is a contextual heuristic and can miss interviews or misclassify other conversations.
Polyscript provides no cheating assistance, interview coaching, suggested participant responses, hidden recording, or ways to bypass these boundaries.
Preview availability
An experimental preview is available for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. It is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. Read the installation guide before first use.
